I smiled reading this -- who hasn't seen this very character strutting his stuff around the neighborhood? Often I think one of my dogs is going to open up and speak words. It is at once both strange and yet familiar our relationship with other animals, isn't it? |

I love a crow's swagger and sass, though it's equally entertaining to see them harried by a slender mockingbird. And now I'm thinking of the Beefheart song "Ice Cream for Crow," and that wonderful beginning line: "It's so hot, looks like you got three beaks, Crow." |
